Trade Dirt Roads for City Lights
Mexico City is proof that an overland expedition doesn't have to avoid civilization to be authentic. We'll park the FJ80 and spend a day exploring Chapultepec, the National Museum of Anthropology and Centro Histórico before surrendering the evening to one of the world's great food cities. This is our chance to trade dusty boots for a decent shirt and enjoy the other side of traveling slowly through a country.
Getting here also gives the truck its first serious highway test. We'll pay particular attention to brakes, tire wear, charging voltage and cooling performance before entering the next mountain sections. The FJ80's job isn't simply surviving trails—it has to make long highway days comfortable enough that we're still excited to explore when we arrive.
