Guadalajara, Mexico
Tequila, Architecture & the Open Road
The first run inland carries us away from the Pacific and into Guadalajara, where colonial architecture, modern Mexican culture and legendary food replace beach towns. We'll explore Centro Histórico before turning toward the agave fields surrounding Tequila. It's the perfect opening chapter: a vintage Land Cruiser parked among blue agave, followed by an evening spent eating exceptionally well in one of Mexico's great cities.
The climb inland makes this our first opportunity to watch coolant temperatures, braking performance and transmission behavior under sustained highway use. At the hotel, we'll check fluids and look underneath for anything beginning to seep or shake loose. For the stay, a historic property such as Hotel Morales fits the journey beautifully—old Guadalajara atmosphere, a central location and secure parking. Adventure outside; comfort when the keys come out of the ignition.
