Todos Santos
Leave Cabo behind and follow the Pacific toward Todos Santos, where Baja becomes artistic, relaxed and just polished enough without losing its desert-town soul. Wander the historic streets and galleries before pointing the FJ80 toward the coast. For a more physical afternoon, head toward Punta Lobos, where hiking along the cliffs delivers broad Pacific views and the sound of sea lions from the rocks below. Surfers can continue toward Los Cerritos or San Pedrito, where the Pacific provides an entirely different kind of challenge.
Todos Santos is the right place to finish this chapter slowly. Find a boutique hotel or head back toward the beach for camp. Eat something memorable. Watch the sun disappear into the Pacific and let the FJ80 sit covered in the dust it earned getting here. Tomorrow there will be another road, another border and eventually another continent. But tonight, there's nowhere else we need to be. That's the real privilege of traveling Baja by Land Cruiser: having the capability to keep moving and the freedom to know when not to.
