Cabo San Lucas, Baja
Dirt Roads to White Sheets
The road toward Cabo San Lucas brings us into a completely different Baja. After remote camps, desert tracks and quiet fishing communities, Cabo offers restaurants, resorts, nightlife and the dramatic granite formations of Land's End. Spend part of the day on the water seeing El Arco from the sea, then let the Land Cruiser take us beyond the polished resort corridors in search of quieter desert roads, beaches and viewpoints around the southern tip of the peninsula.
And then we do something overlanders occasionally forget they're allowed to do: check into somewhere beautiful. Park the dusty FJ80 outside a great hotel, find a pool, order dinner and appreciate just how good civilization can feel after living out of a truck. The expedition isn't supposed to be an endurance contest every day. Sometimes adventure means testing your limits. Sometimes it means knowing when you've earned a steak, a cocktail and an absurdly comfortable bed.
