Uvita, Costa Rica
Jungle Meets the Pacific
The Pacific returns, but Costa Rica's southern coast feels nothing like Baja or Mexico. Here rainforest seems determined to fall directly into the ocean. We'll explore waterfalls, hike through tropical forest and spend time around the famous whale-tail-shaped coastline of Marino Ballena before looking toward the wild country farther south.
The combination of rain, heat and coastal humidity means we'll inspect the FJ80 for trapped mud, corrosion points, wet electrical connections and tire damage. Then we'll find a jungle lodge with an impossible view, get cleaned up and spend the evening somewhere between an infinity pool and the sound of insects in the forest. Luxury feels better when your boots are still drying outside.
